Professor Andreas Dengel is a co-organizer of a global forum on artificial intelligence and humanity. The Global Forum on Artificial Intelligence for Humanity (GFAIH) emerged from close cooperation between France and Canada.

The forum, which will take place in Paris this year from October 28 to 30, 2019, is based on the IPAI’s goals of promoting the responsible development of AI grounded in human rights, inclusion, diversity, and innovation. Workshops and plenary sessions, including a speech by French President Emmanuel Macron himself, will take place at the French Academy (Quai Conti). In the evening, there was a dinner with the president at the Élysée Palace.

Scientists from the fields of AI, life sciences, environmental sciences, social sciences, the humanities, and engineering, as well as innovators, economic and public sector stakeholders, policymakers, and representatives of civil society, will work together to establish a human-centered and ethical approach to artificial intelligence grounded in human rights. It is also essential to promote and protect democratic values, processes, and institutions—including democracy, the rule of law, the free market, freedom of the press, and access to information—in the implementation of AI technologies.
