Order of Merit of Rhineland-Palatinate

At the State Chancellery, Minister President Malu Dreyer awarded the State Order of Merit to 18 citizens, thereby celebrating the 41st anniversary of the state’s highest honor. To mark the state’s 75th anniversary, more recipients than usual were honored this year to highlight their outstanding volunteer work and dedication. The total number of living recipients is strictly limited to 800.
Among those honored was Prof. Dr. Andreas Dengel, recognized for his exceptional dedication and expertise in the field of artificial intelligence. AI is a key technology that drives innovation in science, business, education, and mobility. The award underscores the DFKI’s AI philosophy, which focuses on the benefits of a synergistic partnership between humans and machines.
